DMA04A01 How the Greyhound was used in the Medieval Hunt

Level: Novice, open to all ages
Length of Class: 1 hour
Description: This class will familiarize the student with the fundamentals of the medieval hunt, with specific emphasis on the role that the Greyhound played in it. The topics that are covered are the different styles of the hunt, the prey that was hunted, some basic hound care and laws that pertain to keeping of a Greyhound.
Objectives: By the end of this class the student should:
v Understand the different methods used in a period hunt.
v Animals that were hunted and restrictions that were placed on hunting at different times and species.
v Some of the laws that pertained to hunting and to owning and/or hunting with a greyhound.
