Whip Me, Beat Me...Make Me Wear BAD Elizabethan:

Level: Beginning costumer
Objective: In WMBM: Gilding the Lily, we will explore the basic components of an Elizabethan Dress. We will look at the construction, history and patterns for the Bodice, the Skirt, the Kirtle, the Sleeves, the Forepart, and the petticoats. We will also examine the differences in regional costume during the Elizabethan time. Finally, we will look at period color names, their modern equivalents, and discuss common colors used in gowns.
