Class Description: This course provides an introduction to courtesy and etiquette as well as a brief outline of the different titles and awards within the SCA, how to address them, how they rank, and how to achieve them. At the end of the course the student should have a basic knowledge of the different ranks of the nobility and the royalty as well as a well-grounded understanding of the behavior expected in general and in Court.
Learning Objectives: by the end of this class students will know:

· What is an AOA, GOA, POA, Royalty
· What Title goes with these awards
· What are all these other awards for
· How do I know who’s got what
· How do I get one
Courtesy and Etiquette
· How to refer to other people
· How to greet and meet people
· I have a question, whom do I ask
· I’ve been called into Court, what do I do
· Which fork do I use for the first remove
· What do I do at the Ball
SCA Ceremonies
· What is Coronation and Crown List
· What is a Baronial Investiture
· What is an Elevation to the Peerage
· What is an associate, and how to I become one
SCA Groups and Households
· What is a Kingdom, Principality, Barony, etc…
· Who runs these groups
· Do I have to join a household
